Scorps Or Loopknives 6 1024x1024

I’m sure most of you know what these are by now If not I’ll give you a quick rundown.

These are scorps or loopknives. Used for hollowing cuts on greenwood treen.

Shown are my small, standard and large models with a cheeky spoon crook sunning away on the right.

My standard woods for these are Walnut, Ash and Oak. All locally and sustainabily sourced using non intrusive and traditional drying methods. I purchase them in milled planks that are air dryer for several years finished with a final year in a solar kiln. No carbon footprint there eh! All courtesy of the legendary Patrick over @forest2furniture.

I shall be delving deeper into these in the coming weeks. The main focus on edge geometry, ergonomics and no-nonsense sharpening .Have a great day all!!

  1. I want to know the price of a loopknife, and if is possible to send to Portugal. if is possible I want know the measure of the medium size.
    Thanks a lot.

    1. Hello Samuel! Hope you are well and good. Thabk you for your enquiry. My standard/medui sized scorps are around 35mm at it’s widest point and 45-50mm in length. They come handled in a 8″ octagonal tapered handle with a choice of oak, ash and Walnut. All locally sourced. Steel from Sheffield and timber from the Sherwood region. The cost for these is £125 handled. I also make wooden protective box sheaths made from a matching timber for £25.

Postage to Portugal is £17. All of my products sent internationally or over £100 are tracked and insured for thier value. This gives piece of mind and is much more secure than just international standard.

If you would like to order one, please do full out the form on the “contact me” page and wr can discuss what you would like!

Have a great day and looking forward to seeing your email
