Absolutely thrilled with how these have come out and I am now happy to day I have added 90mm sloyds to me catalog. These are forged around 3mm thick and don ash and maple with milk paint handles.
Three bottom coats and two top lightly rubbed away on the handle facets with 800 grit abrasive paper. To finish, I apply a few coats of beeswax/turpentine mix which gives a beautiful shine and feels great in the hand.
I’m torn between them all but have to say I’m leaning a little toward the mustard yellow and blue base combo. What’s your favourite? I will be giving one of them away for a competition very soon along with a few other items.

The word “sloyd” is derived from the Swedish word Slöjd, which translates as crafts, handicraft, or handiwork. It refers primarily to woodwork but also paper-folding and sewing, embroidery, knitting and crochet. The Teachers Handbook of Slojd is available for free here
